You are all cordially invited to join your Southern Maryland brethern for a Gumdo Gathering this Sunday, August 26, starting at about 2 pm, at the Greenwell State Park, Hollywood, MD.

We will have access to a grill, a pavillion, a beach, playground, wooded areas, and ample parking.

Please bring enough food for your lunch, and a dish to share. (For any out-of-town folks coming, a bucket of KFC or a pizza is more than ample, and I've already PM'd Brad that those traveling by motorcycle are exempt from having to carry anything.) Please also bring your mokkum and chukdo, if you can, and remember to bring a swimsuit and/or wear clothing you don't mind getting wet.

Bring family members, classmates, guests. PM to RSVP or for directions.

OK, we had our picnic, and all I can say is, "YOU MISSED IT!!!!!!"

We had grilled burgers, hotdogs, baked beans, brownies, cookies, deviled eggs, potato salad, lemonade, and soda of every variety known to mankind. We had blindfolded swordsmen swinging at pinatas with mokkums, directed by their classmates using only Korean commands. We had water balloon fights. We had waterballoons strapped with packing tape over headgear, so the 'loser' of any chukdo sparring match got drenched! We even tied my son to a tree in full hogu and hit him with a chukdo (more fun than the pinata, but without the candy). And thank God the weather was wonderful!

We will plan on something like this again. I know there are a bunch of folk on this forum in MD/VA/DC area, so next time, please plan on joining in!

ADDED ON EDIT: Bring your own son!
