Dear Jennifer B., John Z, Casey R., Russel H., Brad G., and anyone else who can help,

I could not 'spoof' the PM system into sending this messaqge to more than one person at a time, so please forgive me for posting this as a new thread - it seems the best way to coordinate and make sure everyone has all the information.

Below is a message describing the time/place for the upcoming Harford County cutting session. Jennifer B and I are trying to use this opportunity to help get two display cases from my old store to Master Estrada in New York. We need help.

I can bring the glass (very heavy) and the drawers from the cases to the cutting seminar in my van, IF there is a place there to store them until they can be moved farther north. I cannot move the display cases themselves at this time - they are roughly 5 ft by 21 inches by 3 ft high and very heavy. So, here is the plan:

1. Casey and/or Russell: would you be willing to drive your truck(s) to St Leonard MD where the cases are now to pick them up, in exchange for your choice of a Mexican, seafood, steak, or Korean dinner down here (your choice of my four favorite restaurants in the area)?
2. Casey and/or Brad, is there a place in your dojang or near the Harford County cutting session where they could be stored until they can be moved farther north?
3. Mister Ziti, would you be willing to drive a truck down from New York and join us for the Harford County cutting session, and pick up the cases, drawers, and glass to drive back to NY? If not, would you be willing/able to pick them up and drive them to NY at a later TBD date from the HQ in PA, if we can get them there?

If anyone needs to contact me directly, please call me at home (410-326-9175) or on my cell phone (410-991-0527).

Thank you for your help and for even considering working to make this happen for Master Estrada.

- Ann R.

Quote:
Ann,

We have scheduled another cutting seminar.
16 August (Saturday), starting at 10 AM.
At the YMCA in Abingdon.
The purpose of the event is to raise money for the Y to build a pool.
There is no 'fee' for the seminar, however, donations for the Y are accepted.
Everyone is welcome to attend.

It's just down the road, basically, from Master Lee's dojang.
Exit 77 off of I-95. Head towards Bel Air (2d ramp as you are coming north).
Go right at the first light.
Go right at the first light after that.
Turn left at the 7-11 (i think it's a 7-11).
Turn right and you'll see the Y on your right.
The session will be outside.

see you there

Ann, again, I need to thank you for your patience in trying to help me coordinate the efforts in getting these display cases to New York. I will be passing along this post to Master Estrada this evening and will hopefully speak with Master Ziti either at that time or sometime tomorrow.

The cutting seminar location is not all that far away from NY - (although the 16th is the same day as our Gumdo test scheduled at the school) - one of the biggest hurdles at the moment is to find a way to get both cases from its current location (your church) to the cutting seminar location (YMCA in Abington). If Master Rogers is attending the seminar and is situated near your church and is willing and able to get both cases in his truck that would solve that part of the problem. If not, we will brainstorm a solution. :P

Huh!? You mean I'd have to choose just one of the meals? That'll be just enough to get me mad!

I'll check with Russell regarding his schedule next week and make him aware of this post. In the event that he cannot come down to your location before the cutting seminar, I may be able to during the coming week. We'll find a place to store them here until we can get them farther north within the next week or two.

Casey, for you, I'd be willing to swing two dinners.

Thanks for working to make this happen.

Ann, you gotta understand. My parents were the wealthiest people on the planet at one time. They had unlimited monetary wealth, or so they thought. Then they gave birth to me. As an infant my mother was forced to employ the use of a cow as a sarrogate breast feeder. Yeah, it wasn't pretty. That cow repeatedly tried to trample me, but I wouldn't let go. They used the last small chunk of their fortune to build a prison-like portable steel cell to feed me in. They'd slide their pathetically meager offerings of food through a slot at the bottom of the door with a very long pole. That started when I was nine years old. When I finally broke free I began unleashing my wrath upon the food world by eating at all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets and putting them out of business. You've been warned.

I've made Russell and John aware of the situation.

Hey Ann,

I can get down that way to get the cases, but I'm going to be out of town from the 15th until the 23rd on business, Would there be any problem with waiting until the weekend of the 30th for me to get the cases? I have a storage unit I can put them in until delivery can be arranged. I think I should see Master Ralph at training today, so I should be able to arrange something with him then.

Russell

Russell,

your offer is very kind and I *think* we can get it to work, but there are two problems:

1. The cases are currently being stored 'temporarily' on someone else's property and I fear they are wearing out their welcome.

2. The cases will still need to be moved from Abingdon/Bel Air up to New York

I am hoping to get everything taken care of next weekend, because I think John Ziti might be available to drive the cases up to NY from the cutting seminar. If things don't work out for that, though, I will take you up on your offer (and you can eat Casey's share of the Korean, Mexican, steak, or seafood dinner ;) )

Ann, I spoke to John Ziti earlier today and the way things seem to be shaping up is that Casey or Russell will be getting the cases from your location and will hold them until they go to Gumdo Headquarters - this way John and Master Estrada can pick them up from Headquarters the next time they are there. My hope is that my understanding is correct.

Thanks everyone for your assistance. It is greatly appreciated.

Note to Russell and/or Casey:

I have the glass for the cases (one shelf, two sliding doors, and one top piece each, times two cases) packed in the back of my van. Would you be able to store the glass and the drawers (which I removed to make the cases lighter/easier to move) if I brought them with me when I drive up for the cutting seminar next Saturday?

Pls. let me know. Thnx.

I'm able and willing to drive down to pick them up this coming Thursday if the folks who are currently storing them for you can't wait until the weekend of the 30th.
