We've been down the contest road before. We have had an essay contest, a choreography film contest, and a photography contest... So far, Eddie has the distinction of being the only member to have ever entered one of our contests. That's three contests, with more than 200 members and 1 single entrant. Fascinating, eh?

Hence, this survey...

I would participate in the essay or photography contest. I think it's a great idea. The members of this forum seem pretty active compared to the MSN days.

The problem with a Film contest is that it's very complicated to get one going, and not everyone has the technological aptitudes to do it. A photo contest would be the best choice for many reasons. You don't have to be literate to take a picture. Most people on this forum have a digital camera or know someone who does. It's as simple as making a topic and having people post their pictures, or e-mailing them to the admin so he can post them in a locked topic. Then you just make another topic for voting on which set of pictures is the best.

It just 15 minutes to walk outside and take a picture. I which we could have done this one earlier, since pictures of kumdo during winter looks bad***. :)

I think we're ready to try another contest.

With only seven people weighing in on this survey so far, one of whom took option C, I don't think we are quite prepared to announce a contest just yet...

Right, so let's see what statistics we have at the end of a week...

The thread has been viewed 90 times. Of our 105 members, 11 have voted. Of these votes 7 are in favor of contests.

Of course I love to win prizes, and so on. However, I am somewhat reticent to display my ignorance in essay, movie, still-photo, or other media. I have decided on a qualified vote for Option A: If I feel qualified, I will enter. :?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a "non-threatening" contest?

I'd really enjoy a photography contest. Digital cameras are more accessible nowadays. I think it should be for a signle picture, related to Kumdo in some way or another.
