Plastic sword attack leads to jail
By Rick Lee, Daily Record/Sunday News
April 27, 2007
A Red Lion man is going to prison for a physical altercation that ended with another man fleeing after a plastic ninja sword was poked into his rectum.
According to York Area Regional Police, Christopher Eugene Weaver and Adam Boston got into a fight July 23 with a third man inside a home in the 100 block of West Gay Street in Red Lion.
During the fight, Boston pulled a blanket over the other man's head and held him down while Weaver "stuck" the sword into the man's rectum, police reported.
The man was able to flee and contacted police. Officers said a witness told them Boston had come out of the house afterward, laughing and recounting the incident in detail.
The victim was treated for injuries at York Hospital that were determined to be consistent with the attack, according to police reports.
Thursday in York County Common Pleas Court, Weaver and Boston both pleaded guilty to simple assault.
Weaver, 26, was sentenced to two days less than one to two years in prison, the maximum county sentence. Boston, 22, also of Red Lion, received 23 months of probation with the first 90 days to be served on house arrest.
Charges of aggravated indecent assault without consent filed against both men were dismissed in the plea agreements.
Weaver was sentenced to one year probation and fined $50 in 2001 for cruelty to animals. According to reports, he pleaded guilty to stabbing his German shepherd. The dog survived.
After Thursday's hearing, senior prosecutor Chris Moore said only, "You can't make this stuff up."
