Hello.

For those of you who have been using tatami for some of your cutting practice, I have a question. How do you take care of the smell? :? After you soak the mats in water, the water leaves a not to pleasant smell around the dojang! Is there any thing that can be done to help take down the smell?

Some one suggested chlorine tablets or something of that effect, but I thought the chemicals might tarnish the blade….

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Haidong!!!

Unfortunately, the smell is part of the deal. Adding non-corrosive deoderizers to the water may help but in my opinion they are not necessary. Simply getting rid of the water and used materials quickly should help prevent the bad smell from lasting too long.

Thank you
