Grabbing the blade is surprisingly possible.
Relative length is significant, but with both weapons of equal length it doesn't matter so much. No, what really makes for tactical superiority is the guard, and two edges. I think it is quite interesting to figure out what I'd have to do to negate the inherent advantages in this simple and enduring blade design.
