Anyone have any knowledge of Middle Eastern sword arts? Apart from some videos of belly dancers doing what looks to be a type of kummu, I've never run across much of anything about ME styles. I know they have a two sword style but I have seen VERY little on it. I'm sure there HAS to be something on ME sword styles out there, especially since our attention has been focused that direction for the past couple of years.
Anyone?

I know this is specifically not what you're looking for, but my fiance is a pretty hard core bellydancer, and she does sword dancing as well. From a dancer's perspective, she actually does not see much similarity between what she does and gummu. Every bit of gummu I've ever seen has been on video, but it seems to me that they tend to incorporate actual techniques into the dance quite a bit, and I don't think that's the case with most bellydancers.
As for what you're actually asking about, I have no idea. Have you ever seen the movies The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, or better yet, The Scorpion King? I'm sure the sword work in those is a reliable source of information. Heh heh...
