Hello Mr. Jackson. Welcome to the forum.
Which of the WHDGDF kagums are you looking to obtain? There's three - the standard black kagum (which may be difficult to obtain as I'm told it's being discontinued) retails at $150 - $180, the ultra light aluminum saegum (has a grooved blade and come in a maroon scabbard) retails at $250 - $280, and the brand new model kagum that is supposedly replacing the standard kagum (also has a grooved blade, seems as light as the saegum, and comes in a brown scabbard). I don't recall the price of the new model and you're unlikely to find one used this soon.
It would be of help if you would let us know your height and stature as the kagums come in a few different lengths. Also, which state/province do you live in?

If you don't mind me asking, where do you train at? Are you the same Allen I used to train with at CMA?

My parents live in Perryville. I live about an hour's drive away to the northwest.
I'm still with CMA, but I'm mostly at the Bel Air branch. Russell is managing the HdG dojang now.
Are you not able to get a kagum through your current master? Or is it that you're really after a used one?

I have a used one (that used to belong to Casey, so he should have all the specs on it.)

There you go, Allen. Ann has the standard (but to be discontinued?) WHDGDF kagum with the black scabbard and black handle wrap. It has no groove, though.

I suspect it might be a little too short for you. I am 5' 4" and change, and the kagum is a perfect length for me. (Perhaps it will be a good tool for practicing the Yedo forms?).
Does anyone know if the old WHDGDF kagum came in different lengths?

I have a Kagum I am willing to sell. It is the standard model, black. The blade is 27.25 inches measured from the tip (gum ko) to the front of the guard (gum ma-ke).

Sounds like they are all the same size - this is identical to the one I have.
