According to Brian Gihm, it is "gumdoholic".

Perhaps you and Anthony can form a support group.

In Korean, it would be gumdo-gwang. ('-gwang' being like '-aholic') However, in Korea you'd be more likely to hear the Konglish form, gumdo mania. (Yes, you read it right: 'mania' rather than 'maniac'. As I said, it's Konglish. :) )

Clare, Thanks for clarifying the term.

Now, I know why they use the term " Gumdo Mania ", and I have been wondering why they use mania.

But its cool !! So it is GUMDOHOLIC OR GUMDOGWANG !! oH YEAH ! :D

Okay, but how do you say in Korean, "Help!! This man is going into convulsions! Somebody give him a mogum - quick!"

How about some kind of self-explanatory t-shirt?

Heh, one thing I noticed about some Korean kumdo teachers; they always wear a piece of clothing with some HDGD insignia on it. I swear, the whole time I was in Jeju, I never wore my own clothes, just t-shirts Master han gave me. Bah, no complaints... black can go with almost anything. ::

I only extremely seldom wear something other than gumdo clothing or t-shirt. In any case, I have my tatoo. . .

You also have a HDGD tattoo? I got mine done on Friday. Everyone was getting one, so I opted for the hangul version of HDGD instead of a flaming skull with snakes. It's vertical, just above the navel. Want a picture? Cheri, I'd love to get a picture of yours. Lets try to keep it within a "G" rating please. :P

There is already a picture of Cheri's tattoo on the MSN site... I can't remember if it is one of the random selections I posted in the gallery here or not.

I think flaming skull tattoos are highly underrated...

Charles: Get your mind out of the gutter. Cheri's tattoo isn't on any of those body parts. (Just kidding - about the gutter comment).

I saw a full back tattoo a couple of years ago picturing a samurai making a cut. It was drawn such that the cut appeared to be cutting through the guy's rear right shoulder blade. It was wonderful artwork indeed.

Possible bumper sticker for a gumdoholic: "I got a sword for my wife. It was the best trade I ever made!" 8)
(And yes, Cheri, you can substitute "husband" for "wife," in the interest of fairness. BTW, tell him I said "hi" and that I'm really in his corner.)

Yes Cheri, you have a HDGD tattoo, but is it as nice as Master Jenko's? or as well advertised? Speaking of which, how long until your daughter gets her own tattoo? I told my daughter is would be right after my funeral. For some reason she doesn't buy it.
