I need to ask a favor of those community members over in Korea or those familiar with Korean culture...
Two friends of mine from my taekwondo class is getting married and since I'm now no longer a poor college student, but a poor unemployed college grad, I was trying to come up with a nice gift that wouldn't strap my already tight budget. I had the idea of giving them a Korean prayer and framing it. My girlfriend is pretty artsy, so she can make it look pretty.
Well I did many googles for Korean prayers for marriage and came up with nada (although I did learn a good bit about the traditional Korean wedding ceremony). My request to anyone on the board that can help out is if you know a traditional prayer for newly married couples could you please send me a copy of it? Maybe scan it and send a picture of the Korean and then the English translation? I would really appreciate it and I know the couple would love it. Thank you in advance...*present*

I've seen alot of the Korean Calligraphy prayers out in the Korean Markets here in the states. I think there is alot of Calligraphy out there with deep meanings regarding marriage, love, etc, that don't necessarily have to be "prayers." Maybe you should broaden your search, beyond just the prayers they sell in the Korean Markets.

DaeSan, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Perhaps "prayers" was the wrong word to use; instead I meant more of "well wishes" for a newly married couple or something having to do with love, togetherness, faith, loyalty, etc.

I assumed that to be the case and still found nothing specific to marriage. There are many proverbs based on Confucian ideas that often consist of four hanja characters. I am sure if you can find someone very familiar with those types of proverbs you will find something marriage related, but you may find the meaning is not quite what you had in mind.
