Hello everyone
I know I don't post much (I really should post alot more o_x) but I was wondering if anyone had any downloadable videos of all of the basic Haidong Gumdo forms. (Im thinking 1-12 ?) I got up to form 9 before I had to leave my school and would like to keep practicing. If anyone has any of the videos up on their website, please let me know! Or if anyone knows where I can buy a video or DVD of the forms that would be great too...

Thanks a bunch
-Jenna

Jenna,

If you're the Jenna I think you are, yes, I have all the forms on video on the web. Master Kim does not allow them to be distributed to anyone but his own students (for now) but I think you might be one of his students (and my classmate).
If you can e-mail me (at biondos@cs.com) and confirm this, I'll let you have them.
Sam

Hi... I found this website a few days ago. In the Photos/Videos section there is a posting of Gumdo forms. If you look at the children's form I believe you'll see Ssang-su Gumbup #1. In the adult section under the yellow belt link you'll see Ssang-Su Gumbup #2 and so on. The link is:

Hope this helps!

hey, somebody else post here will yah? heh heh

I know that Turtlepress has a really good VCD on HDGD, but obviously that's not downloadable. Also, the onyl forms that they demonstrate there are Shim Sang, Yedo 6 & 8, Bonguk 1 & *mumbles*, and then Jangbaek *mumble & mumbles*

I've also experienced the misfortune of having to discontinue training/learning when my instructor suffered an injury which ended his ability to properly wield a sword (lost some fingers of right hand). I'd like to continue ... nearest instructor is a 3-hour commute ... have single-sword forms on tape but not the double sword forms. Most interested in finding a reference/video for the Gyok-Gum drills (had learned 10 so far). Anyone have or know of a source for the WHDGDF Gyok-Gum (partnered) drills?

Be well,
Kaal

You may want try youtube for the basic SSGB , but for gyuk gum I have no idea.
While you are looking for new dojang, perhaps you train yourself based on what your instructor had taught you.
Strengthen the basics while you wait.
It is not perfect, but at least it will prevent you from forgeting the basics.
Though later , your new instructor may have to correct you for any mistakes you made.

I had been in similar situation too, without instructor for sometime.
That's what I do, practise on my own till set up my own HDGD club.

By the way, without being disrespectful , may I know what kind of accident that befallen unto your
Instructor's fingers? Was it because of accidental cuts by swords? Or non sword related accident?

His injury was not related to swords ... it was a power tool in the hands of a careless student. Most unfortunate.
