Looking at this thread, it's been almost a year since I last made a video of myself training. This grew out of practice early this afternoon.

John, who does your videography?

You did a great job putting the clip together. I got a real kick out of the "looking up into the camera" shot.

Thanks for the compliments. Once I got the idea for the shot of me looking up, I couldn't very well not do it, regardless of how cheasy it may be.
Ann, I do all of my own stunts, including videography.

Well, this time I found the 'mother load' of hdgd forms on video.

This website has .wmv clips of all 12 ssang su gumbup, shim sang, 9 yedo gumbup, and 7 bonkuk forms. The website homepage is notable by the absence of any of the Federation logos, so I have no clue what group they represent (there are some significant variations from these presentations and both the Daehan and the Hankuk methods).

Thoughts?

this is Kaist (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) Haedong Gumdo club website. They used to be associated with Daehan Haidong Gumdo long time ago but they have been associated with Hankook for quite few years now.

Ron might be familiar with the group, I think?

Dammit, I'm breaking my "no posts for one week rule" here, but since Brian asked....

Certainly looks like an "instructional" video for Hanguk Haedong Kumdo. Since these take forever to download, I've only watched Ssangsu #1-2, 12 and Yedo #1-2. Ssangsu looks pretty much the same as we do it (instructor's stylistic interpretations aside). Yedo cuts look more like kumdo than Haedong Kumdo, however.

At one time, my Sabum in Taejon was the instructor for the KAIST club (while he was still in the yeonmaeng). In fact, when I left Korea in '96, I had to leave my BRAND NEW jingum behind and the KAIST club "inherited" it. For all I know, they're still using it and THAT'S IT on the video! (Easy to id since it has my name engraved on the blade.)

I worked out with the KAIST club a few times. They gradually grew to like me, after finding out I "wasn't European." Apparently they had something against Europeans. :?: I never did find out why they thought that, or why I was approached in Chungju by a Korean who was speaking German (assuming I was German). Just so happened that the guy I was with spoke fluent German. What are the odds? But I digress.

SSGB11
Slightly "tweaked" version I did at a demo earlier this year with the forum's own Mr. Thomas Urso.

SSGB1...kinda
Another "tweaked" form demonstration. This combines the WHDGDF SSGB1 and a beginner Gicheon form. Apologies for the video quality.

John, you are our community's 'Living Legacy' and window into Gicheon. Your posts from your gicheon experience add so much to our community. Thank you!

The only other thing I can say is, "More, please!" Any other Gicheon info, forms videos, or links to forms videos you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
